Hi, i’m Katie
Katie DeAscanis, MA, LMHC
she/her
"At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens in safe, trusting relationships — with others, and with ourselves."
Katie believes that relationships are at the heart of the human experience. Whether with partners, family, friends, colleagues, or ourselves, the quality of these connections—and the trust and safety within them—has a profound impact on our well-being. It is through relationships that we encounter both the pain of loss and loneliness and the joy of love, support, and meaningful connection.
In her work, Katie takes an integrative approach to counseling, drawing from psychodynamic, emotion-focused, existential, and trauma-informed frameworks. She supports clients in strengthening their relationships with themselves and others, building a secure foundation from which they can create fulfilling, meaningful lives.
Katie works with couples in distress, as well as individual adults navigating disconnection, depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse histories, and the unique stressors faced by those holding marginalized identities across racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic lines.
Katie holds both a bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Florida, as well as a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. She has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)—an evidence-based, research-supported approach to couples therapy with unmatched long-term outcomes.
Prior to counseling, Katie built a successful career in sales and marketing. After personally benefiting from her own therapeutic journey, she felt called to support others as they pursue growth and well-being. Outside of her clinical work, Katie enjoys teaching and practicing yoga, baking, kayaking Florida’s rivers and lakes, and hosting dinner and game nights with family and friends.

Hi, i’m Harley
Harley Smith, M.Ed. Ed.S., RMHCI
she/her
“Healing isn’t just for other people — it’s for you. My role is to walk with you as you discover your strength, find your calm, and build the life you deserve.”
Trauma Therapy:
Harley helps teens and adults move from emotional overwhelm and self-doubt to feeling grounded, empowered, and aligned with the life they want to live. In therapy, clients can expect to deepen their understanding of how their past has shaped their present and begin to rewire their brains for more peace and resilience.
Trauma is anything that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope–it shapes the mind, body, and heart. In her approach, Harley offers a holistic perspective to help clients understand how trauma may have shaped their experiences, affected their sense of safety, and impacted their nervous systems. She gently guides clients in developing everyday mindfulness and emotional regulation skills to help them feel at ease and more in control. As clients begin to feel empowered, Harley guides the exploration of potentially limiting patterns and beliefs that have prevented them from being their true, amazing selves. Harley also incorporates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to support deeper healing and help clients form new, empowering beliefs.
Harley understands what it’s like to think that real healing is meant for “other people”, but this can’t be further from the truth. Her mission is to show those who’ve been through hard things that healing is possible and you are worthy of a meaningful life.
Teen Therapy:
Harley loves working with teens. With experience working as a mental health counselor in a high school, she understands the pressures, big decisions, and complex relationships that teens face everyday. Her approach in working with teens is built on a foundation of trust. She believes it’s important not to be just another adult “telling them what to do,” but rather someone who truly listens and creates a space where they feel respected and empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Harley helps teens move from feeling anxious, lost, or unsure to becoming more confident in themselves and their relationships. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is seeing teens and young adults succeed at their goals in therapy and in life.
